In this course, beginners will learn the art of playing the harmonium, a widely used instrument in the practice of Gurbani Kirtan, which is the singing of hymns from the Sikh scriptures. Students will be introduced to the basics of playing the harmonium, including understanding the keyboard layout, proper finger placement, and basic music theory concepts such as scales and chords. The course will also cover the fundamentals of Gurbani Kirtan, including the history and significance of this devotional music form in Sikhism. Students will learn popular Gurbani Kirtan compositions and how to sing them with proper pronunciation and emotion.
